Top Gear new host announced
Great news, Joey Tribianni lovers! Matt Le Blanc is officially coming back to our screens, as the BBC has confirmed that he will join Chris Evans as a co-host on the new, revamped series of Top Gear.

Matt, who was the fastest ever 'Star in a Reasonably Priced Car' on a previous season of the show (with a very respectable 1m 42.1s in the Kia cee’d), said of the news, 'As a car nut and a massive fan of Top Gear, I’m honoured and excited to be a part of this iconic show’s new chapter. What a thrill!'

Co-host Chris added, 'Matt’s a lifelong fellow petrolhead and I’m thrilled he’s joining Top Gear. Acting out our craziest car notions on screen is a dream job and I know we’ll both be debating some epic road trip ideas.'

'We can’t wait to share what we’ve been up to on screen later this year.'

Although he's best known for his role in Friends, Matt is no stranger to the world of motoring shows - he was also the face of the standalone spin-off Top Gear: The Races.

Top Gear, which launched in 1977 and has been watched by car lovers around the world ever since, previously starred Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May - but a shake-up of the line-up was prompted after Jeremy got into a 'fracas' with member of production staff, and his contract was subsquently not renewed. The trio are now working on a new project with online streaming service Amazon Prime.

Matt and Chris' reinvention will be the 23rd series of Top Gear, and the BBC have said that there will be more updates on other cast members shortly. We wonder who will complete the line up?
