What better way to celebrate World Book Day than with a competition?
If your little ones are anything like ours they will love
the chance to get dressed up as one of their favourite storybook characters, and we're pretty sure they'd also love to win FOUR scooters, too! We've also thrown in a few runner's up prizes to make the fun go even further.
And since World Book Day is such a big day in schools across the UK we've included those lovely teachers, too! Get them to enter for the chance to win a whole dressing up box worth of costumes from Smiffys.
First prize for kids
To celebrate World Book Day
the lovely team at Micro Scooters
are offering the chance to win two child and two adult scooters - perfect for family #scootingadventures
. We've found these little scooters make the school run much less stressy if you walk your kids to school (no more dragging feet!), and we've even been known to use the adult versions as an alternative to the usual busy bus journey.
The Micro Scooter team say, 'If you've already got some scooters then don't forget to dress them up in time for the big day with our range of fun accessories
You're free to choose scooters from their new deluxe range if you win, perfect for even for the fanciest of Nancys
. With adjustable handlebar height, new and improved weight limits, raised silicone Micro grips, and bright two-tone anodised stems they're sure to be the envy of the playground (or office!).
Runner's up prizes for kids
For three lovely runners up we've also got some great prizes from our friends at University Games
- the perfect motive to get the kids to put down the iPads and phones for an afternoon.
Each runner up will receive a word-based board game that is sure to help with little ones' reading and a fun balancing game perfect for pirates.
Who doesn't love Postman Pat? The Postman Pat Word Rhyming Game
helps children have fun while picking up the language and rhymes from the story. Players follow the rhyming patterns but have special cards to help them out. There is an additional, bonus card game inside where the characters in the story are collected and the first player to have the set wins. Don't Rock The Boat
takes little ones on a rockin' adventure with a crew of 16 pirate penguins. They take turns balancing the pirate penguins on the ship without making it tip! They'll have to be ever so careful though, because if they rock the boat and send the penguins overboard, they'll have to walk the plank! A fun balancing game for all buccaneers.
First prize for teachers
Teachers, we're not forgetting you! If you're class has what it takes to win the best-dressed class award then roll up right here. Smiffys
fancy dress retailer has given us five literary-themed costumes to fill your dressing up box with. Perfect for free play time. Each costume is worth up to £50 and your class can decide which five they want from Smiffys World Book day section
! All you have to do is to follow the entry instructions below by sending us a picture of yourself dressed up. Let the battle of the best dressed teachers begin.
How do I enter?
We've made it simple, because we know there's not a lot of time in between the final gluing, sticking and sewing of costumes and the school run where you've got to fit Humpty Dumpty in the car somehow (note to self: never again). Just snap a picture of your little one(s) in their World Book Day costume
(s) and tell us why they chose their idea. Then send it our way via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or email.
If you're a teacher wanting to win the dressing up box costumes then take a picture of yourself in your finest World Book Day costume and send it our way.
