One mum has praised her ex fiancé's new girlfriend, to show how amazing 'step-mums' are, and not at all like anything we read in fairy tales.
In a Facebook post, Audrey Nicole praised her ex-partner's new girlfriend, Whitney Mcgraw, and thanked her for helping look after her little girl.
Mum Audrey explained: 'This is my daughters fathers gf. The sweetest thing ever! I'm super thankful for her because when she visits her dad she feeds her, takes care of her, buys her gifts, and basically takes care of her like own.'
The mum went on to criticise those who are unkind about an ex-partner's new relationship, especially when that person is helping look after your child.
'Why do these moms act so spiteful and jealous towards the other women??' she asked. 'NOONE said it was easy trying to be a mother to a kids you didn't have'.
While she admitted that 'the evil step mom does exist', Audrey told other mothers that they should appreciate their own children's step mums even more.
She added: 'A kid can have two moms because in my eyes the more people that love her I'm happy!!!
'I would never make her feel like an outsider I'm extremely thankful for this girl.'
Audrey ended by telling other parents to 'focus on being a good mom' and 'not worrying about what's on your baby daddy's girl friends Facebook and Instagram while your kid is right next up you. Love more hate less!!!'
The mum has since received an overwhelming positive response, with the original post being shared over 146,000 times.
Facebook users have been quick to praise the mum's honesty and respect for the new woman in her daughter's life. One user said: 'Your attitude is so right - children need as many loving and caring people around them as possible.
Another praised her own children's step mother, saying: 'I get on with my kids step mother. She's never done anything to me, I'd have no reason not to like her she's a nice girl, she takes my kids into her home and feeds them, treats them like their own.
'So I'm greatful they have a step mother as nice as her.'
