Mum of two slammed for posting 'incestuous' tandem breastfeeding video on YouTube

A soon to be mum-of-three has been heavily criticised for recording herself breastfeeding her two sons side by side, and publishing the content online.

Tasha Maile, from San Diego, has a YouTube channel in which she features various videos about breastfeeding, childbirth and parenting in general.

Now pregnant with her third child, Tasha has been facing backlash for posting several videos of her breastfeeding her two sons in tandem.

Soul, aged two, and Josiah, aged three, drink their mother's breast milk in a video described as 'disturbing' and 'incestuous' by some.

Each video has gathered hundreds of thousands of views, with one reaching 60 million views, and with a variety of positive and negative comments.

People are largely concerned about how old Josiah is, saying that he's too old to still be breastfeeding and that it could have mental health implications for him as he gets older.

Another problem people have is how public the videos are.

'I find this video very disturbing. She wants viewers to believe this is a natural mother and child bonding while breastfeeding,' commented one viewer.

'However, from the start this doesn't appear to be natural but incestuous. Breastfeeding is a natural, beautiful extension of the mother and child bonding.

'However this woman's exhibitionism certainly takes away from the wonderful bonding between other and child.'

'I breastfed my kids and didn't need to put it out there for the world to see. And I'm sorry her kids are too old to be still feeding this way and she deserves the criticism she gets,' wrote another person.

'She can at least pump the milk and they drink it out of a cup... I'm all for breastfeeding but this is just too much.'

Others have supported Tasha, who labels herself as a 'vegan mother-of-two'.

'That's what I've always told my kids. Cows milk IS for calves and breastmilk is for humans!' wrote a viewer.

'And good for her for nursing her kids till she and they are ready to wean. Her kids will be super healthy as will she.'

'Funny that bitter women come on here to criticize a personal decision,' commented another person.

'She's not hurting anyone. There are worse things in the world ok. Not saying this bad, good or anything But a personal decision. If you support it good.

'If you don't go fight a cause that is your business Instead of making a issue out of something that is none of your business anyway. So there.'

Because of the huge reaction, Tasha has since posted a response video in which she addresses her criticisers.

'It says nothing about me, and everything about them, and their unconsciousness and their disconnection,' she says. 'I feel compassion for them.'

'For those of you who support me and are educated about full-term breastfeeding - thank you, guys.'
