Dad wins hearts of thousands by taking his daughter on 'dates' to make her feel like a 'princess'

'She will always know how she deserves to be treated because her dad sets such a high example'

A Canadian dad has received praise from around the world after deciding to take his daughter on a series of regular 'dates'.

Caitlin Fladager shared pictures of her husband Noah and daughter Arianna spending their first evening together to her Facebook account, explaining how proud she was of the pair.

'My husband decided once a month he will take our little girl out on a "date" where she gets all dressed up and gets taken out for cake and ice cream. Tonight was there first night doing it,' she wrote.

'He helped her pick out a dress for her to wear, got a little purse ready for her, held the door open for her, and made her feel like a princess. She loved it was so happy when she got home. She will always know how she deserves to be treated because her dad sets such a high example.'

The accompanying photos show the pair picking out a dress together, Noah holding the door open for his daughter, and Arianna tucking into an impressively big slice of cheesecake at a local restaurant. The final image shows a text from Noah to Caitlin, which reads: 'She's a princess and deserves to be treated like one'.

Since it was uploaded, the post has received more than 80,000 likes, 36,000 shares and 13,000 comments, with many applauding Noah's choice to spend quality time with his daughter in this way.

'These are the best things in the world. I did this with my girls and twenty four years later still go out to dinner once a month with my two daughters. Wouldn't change it for the world,' one wrote.

Another added: 'I do this with my boy we have always had 'date' day once a month he is 12 now but we still do it he gets 100% of my attention no work, housework all day and we go out for a meal together.'

'What a gentleman your daughter is a lucky girl to have such gentlemanly example shown,' a third agreed. 'She will grow to know how to be treated and will show a good example to others. You are wonderful parents.'
