Little Dougie is Howard's second child with wife Katie Halil, who gave birth to the couple's first baby, a son named Bowie, back in January 2016.

Howard is also dad to two daughters Grace, 18, and Lola, 12, from previous relationships.

Fans were quick to shower the singer with congratulations, with one writing: 'This is awesome! Welcome to the world little one and big congrats to you and Katie! ❤' and another adding: 'now you take it easy Howard I know how tiring this giving birth can be for you males 😂👍. Love his name xx'

'Aw!!! Congrats to you, Katie and your whole family. Hoping Katie and the baby are getting good rest 💗💗💗' a third commented.

Howard and Katie now have two sons together

Katie and Howard announced that they were expecting again back in October 2016, with Howard tweeting: ''Guess what? Me and katie are happy to announce we will have our 2nd child in Feb. Yay! No more sleep for another 2 years! (sic)'

When Bowie arrived in 2016, Howard said that his name was a touching tribute to the late musician, but the couple have not yet revealed where they got the inspiration for Dougie's equally unusual moniker.

The pair have been dating since 2010 and married in a secret ceremony in 2015.

'I can confirm Howard Donald and Katie Halil were married at a private ceremony for close family and friends on January 2,' a spokesperson confirmed at the time.

A source later told the Daily Mirror: 'Everyone is so chuffed for Howard and Katie: they make a gorgeous couple.'
