Coronation Street's Andy Whyment reveals why he won't be having any more children

'We said we only wanted two kids and we’ve been really fortunate to have a boy and a girl.'

Andy Whyment has opened up about why he and wife Nichola won't be having any more children, but has revealed the secret to their happy marriage and the possibility of renewing their vows.

Coronation Street star Andy has spoken out about why he won't be growing his brood any further in an exclusive interview with OK! magazine.

The ITV favourite has two kids with his wife Nichola, eight-year-old Tom and six-year-old Hollie.

The couple spoke to the publication about how life has changed since having their little ones, admitting that having children changes your priorities.

Andy said, 'The kids have changed us a lot. Once kids come along they're your life. They're our number one priority.'

Nichola, 32, agreed, 'They are number one. Wherever we go, the kids come too.

'I don't really like using babysitters. The kids are my best mates as well.'

But despite their kids being their 'best mates', this happy couple won't be expecting any more bundles of joy. When asked if another bouncing baby could be on the way, Andy made it clear that is completely off the cards, sharing that he had a vasectomy several years ago.

The actor said, 'There's no chance of that as I had the snip a few years ago.

'We said we only wanted two kids and we've been really fortunate to have a boy and a girl.'

Andy and Nichola tied the knot 10 years ago in front of friends and family in Worsley Park.

The couple spoke about the secret to their happy marriage, explaining how important being able to share a sense of humour is.

Andy continued, 'I can't believe it's nearly 10 years. Time flies when you're having fun!

'Nic's is my best mate. We always make each other laugh.

'I've been punching above my weight for years – my wife's gorgeous!

'I'm a very lucky bloke. We've been together 14 years and we just don't argue. We get on so well.'

The 36-year-old actor also referenced the exciting possibility of renewing their wedding vows, explaining that it's something they would both like to do.

'If we got married again we'd probably have a different group of people there.

'When we got married, we were going out every weekend and now we just stay at home. So we have a very different group of friends.

'I would like to wait, but Nic would renew our vows tomorrow as she feels like she was a very young bride, so she would want to do it again.'
