Billie Faiers hits back at critics who questioned why she put three-year-old daughter Nelly in a buggy

The star was bombarded with comments after posting a picture of her three-year-old in a pram

Billie Faiers has been forced to defend herself after some of her followers criticised her for putting her three-year-old in a pram.

During a family trip to the local park over the weekend, the ex-TOWIE star uploaded a cute photo of toddler Nelly and newborn baby Arthur in a double seated buggy from My Babiie, the baby supplies shop she designs for with fellow mum Katie Piper.

'Over he park this morning with my two little monkeys 🙊🙊 .... double buggy coming soon ... @mybabiieofficial,' she captioned the picture, in which brother and sister sit side by side in the pram, with only their little legs visible underneath the visors.

However, some of 1.4 million followers couldn't resist commenting negatively, pointing out that at the age of three, they felt that Nelly was too old to be in a pushchair.

'I don't know the circumstances or if it's just for the picture but my 3year old doesn't need a buggy anymore and hasn't since he was 2, it's a lot easier with one walking believe me! buggy boards are an option if she gets tired,' said one, whilst another agreed: 'Is there actually a reason Nelly is still in a pushchair? Like, doesn't she walk very well or something? There's 14 months between my kids and I only had a double pushchair for 5 months because he insisted on walking everywhere. And he's very well behaved so it was never a problem.'

Many fans were quick to jump to Billie's defence and condemn the comments as 'rude' - and even Billie herself felt compelled to offer a response.

'Yes there is a reason ...', she hit back. 'Walking from a busy high street where there are a lot of Cars to a park, putting her in a pushchair is the Safest option (not that I need to explain, many mums would agree however) and yes she can walk 'like' perfectly ... thank you.'

Overwhelmingly, though, the pic was flooded with supportive comments from her fans.

'My youngest daughtet is 3 years old and is still in a buggy. She does walk but dont forget a 3 year old cant be on there feet all day. Is alot easier, quicker and safer,' said one.

And another wrote, 'You don't need to explain yourself to anybody, no one has a right to judge can't believe people have time to sit and judge, each child is different and how you parent your child is down to you!'
