Game of Thrones baby names
Considering Game of Thrones names for your baby?

You're not alone. Figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show that there's been a huge spike in parents drawing baby name inspiration from the popular HBO show.

In 2015, 280 girls were given the name Arya, whilst 68 were given the more unusual name Khaleesi. For boys, the name Theon has proved increasingly popular, with 30 born in 2015, as well as 14 Tyrions, 11 Brans and five Ramsays.

Want to follow in their footsteps and find a Game of Thrones name that's perfect for your new arrival?

Here's some of our favourites - although we don't imagine that any of you will be picking Joffrey anytime soon...

Sansa is known for her looks, but she's also as intelligent and talented as her sister - she simply displays it in different ways.

Daenerys or Khaleesi

They're more unusual choices, but you could do worse than naming your daughter after the mother of dragons...

Poor Myrcella may have met an unhappy end in the show, but before that, she lived a life of luxury...

Game of Thrones names for boys

Not put off by Littlefinger's cunning nature? The name Petyr is another nice, traditional choice.

Jorah

Image: Giphy/HBO/Game of Thrones
