Fans have rushed to send messages of congratulations to Helen and her partner, Call the Midwife co-star Jack Ashton, on their bundle of joy, with one exclaiming: 'Congratulations to the whole family!!! You look radiant @helenrgeorge'.

'She obviously didn't want to miss out on a party,' another suggested. 'Congratulations, you make a lovely little family 💜💜💙 xx'.

As of yet, the couple, who play on-off couple Trixie Franklin and Reverend Tom Hereward in the popular drama, have not confirmed the baby name they've chosen for their new arrival.

Helen also hasn't shared the timeline of her pregnancy publicly, but she surprised fans with her pregnancy news at the beginning of last month, when she debuted her growing bump on the red carpet at an awards show, wearing a tight-fitting black dress.

Upon seeing pictures of her at the event, fans took to social media to express their shock - and happiness - at the lovely reveal.

'I HAD NO IDEA HELEN GEORGE WAS PREGNANT OMG' one exclaimed, followed by a second who added: 'Never mind the royal baby I'm more excited that @helen_george is pregnant 🤰🏼👶🏼 @CallTheMidwife1'.

'Can't believe @helen_george is pregnant!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍 the baby bump is big!! #callthemidwife' a third wrote on Twitter.

The baby girl is the first child for both Helen and Jack, who have reportedly been dating since last year.
