'Not one bit wasted' Mum shares genius hack to get sick babies to take Calpol

'I wish I knew this years ago'

A clever mum has shared her simple method for getting her young baby to take Calpol without spilling a drop - and parents love it!

Helena Lee took to Facebook to explain how she had been struggling to get her young baby, Alfie, to take the medicine.

The thirty-three year old detailed how the struggle had been going on for 24 hours, and that her eight-week-old son had ended up covered in the liquid paracetamol as he kept spitting it out.

Helena's simple way round this? Simply put the medicine into a baby syringe as normal, and then put the syringe into the plastic teat of a bottle lid.

This tricks the infant into thinking it's a bottle and they take it before realising - and according to Helena, it works a treat.

'I never thought to do this I've put it just in the teat and got it everywhere but this is magic,' wrote one follower, in one of the 48k comments left on the post.

'Genius! So could have done with seeing this tip years ago,' said another, while a third added: 'I wish I knew this years ago'.

Talking to the Manchester Evening News Helena said that she'd given her son Alfie Calpol because he had a temperature after having his first lot of immunisations.
