David Beckham shares adorable snap with new niece Peggy

David Beckham has melted fans' hearts by sharing an adorable series of pictures of himself bonding with his new niece Peggy.

David, a father-of-four himself, took to Instagram to share the snaps of himself holding his sister Joanne's newborn daughter, adding that he was 'so proud' of her for welcoming the little one into the world.

'Welcome to the world little Peggy ❤️ So proud of my little sis and congrats @krissydonners #Daddy such a beautiful family #proudUncle @joannebeckham,' David wrote alongside the pics.

In the images, David can be seen holding Peggy on his lap, in one smiling directly at the camera, and in another gazing down at the tot.

His 41.3 million followers have sent many messages of congratulations, with one writing: 'Congratulations! Happy birthday little cutie! God bless you Peggy and Ilysm! I hope you enjoy your first day on the Earth little baby and have fun! Much love to you!!'

'Another little one for you to love!' another posted, followed by a third who said: 'Bet your baby girl is excited over the new cousin!!', referring to David's six-year-old daughter Harper, who is the only girl in her immediate family.

David and wife Victoria are also parents to sons Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 15, and 12-year-old Cruz.

Joanne gave birth to her first child with partner Kris Donnelly on 9th December, and announced the happy news earlier this week, with a sweet post revealing that their 'lives had changed forever'.

'Such an amazing feeling starting our own family, the love I have for our little princess Peggy is one that is so unconditional!' she exclaimed. 'I'd never of been able to do it without the love of my life ... @krissydonners you was my strength ! Thank you ... ❤️#myfamily'.

Joanne is the youngest of the Beckham siblings - she and David also have an elder sister named Lynne.
