Serena Williams jokes that getting to grips with her baby's buggy is harder than having 'blood clots on her lungs'

Tennis star Serena welcomed daughter Alexis in September and likes to tell fans about her life as a new mum

Serena Williams just became one of the most relatable celebrity mums, after claiming that trying to use her daughter's stroller was the hardest challenge the multiple-tennis-title holder had ever faced.

The tennis ace took to Twitter yesterday to tell fans that working out how to use daughter Alexis' pram is harder than anything else she's ever faced.

'I've conquered a lot of things... blood clots in my lungs- twice... knee and foot surgeries... winning grand slams being down match point... to name just a FEW,' she began.

'But I found out by far the hardest is figuring out a stroller! 😰😰.'

Serena's status went down well with her followers, with one keen to encourage the star by saying: 'I'm sure you will conquer it soon.'

Another shared their own buggy nightmare story.

'I once spent almost an hour at a subway station in NYC trying to put my baby in her stroller after we got off the train at WTC,' they revealed.

'Thank goodness for a subway attendant who took pity on me and eventually helped me figure it out. It was the latch! What a nightmare!'

A third Twitter user joked that Serena will be facing another parenting challenge in the not-to-distant future.

They quipped: 'Dearest Serena. The stroller is the preliminary stuff. That Barbie Dream House will take you right out, stickers and all! Love from your future….'

Although she's being lighthearted in this instance, Serena has faced a number of more serious struggles since becoming a mum, including complications during the birth of her daughter.

Alexis had to be delivered via an emergency C-section on 1 September 2017after her heart rate dropped during contractions.

The following day, doctors discovered that Serena had several small blood clots on her lungs. Although treatable, Serena then faced more surgery after her C-section wound popped open as a result of intense coughing caused by the pulmonary embolism. Serena was instructed to spend six weeks in bed following the ordeal.
