Fans of the sportsman were quick to congratulate him on the news, with some football fans hoping that his growing family means he can't move to a different club.

One said: 'Congratulations Harry & Kate 💙💙💙', while another added: 'Congratulations to you all. So happy that you and your family are so settled in London. Don’t want the upheaval of a move to different climes for such a young family 😉'.

The two have been together since their school days, and announced they were engaged last July, after Harry popped the question while they were on holiday on an idyllic beach.

Posting a picture of him down on one knee to pop the question to his long term girlfriend, Harry wrote in the caption: 'She said YES! 😘❤️💍'.

When asked about Katie, the 24-year-old said in an interview with Esquire: 'We went to school together, so she's seen my whole career.

'Of course, she's finding it a little crazy. I think she's even been in the papers a couple of times taking the dogs out.'
