X Factor star Bupsi Brown announces she's pregnant and jokes she'd like Simon Cowell to be godfather

The former talent show hopeful shared the happy news with fans on Twitter

Former X Factor contestant Bupsi Brown has announced that she's having a baby.

The singer - who was a contestant on the ITV talent show in 2015 - took to Twitter yesterday to share the exciting news.

'I promise to love and protect you until my very last breath love mama Bupsi,' she gushed.

Keen to show off her changing figure, Bupsi accompanied her lovely words with a photograph revealing her blossoming baby bump.

In the shot, the expectant mother strikes a powerful pose while gazing wistfully into the distance.

Bupsi also went on to reveal that she wouldn't mind her former X Factor Simon Cowell, 58, mentor playing an important role in her baby's life.

'@SimonCowell is welcome to be god father lol🤓 why the heck not 😅 nothing but big luv for our Si,' joked Bupsi.

We're sure it won't shock you that Bupsi's adorable post quickly gained the attention of her admirers.

'I'm so proud and happy for you love congrats xxxxxxx 💓,' said one follower.

Another quipped: 'OMG 👀congratulations @bupsi this is so sweet ❤️you girl your going to be the best mama a child could ever ask for sooo happy for you.....xx.'

Touched that so many fans had sent her congratulatory messages, the 40-year-old later returned to the social networking site to express her gratitude.

Despite making it through the judges' houses stage of the contest, Bupsi was eliminated from The X Factor in the first round of live shows.
