When two parents realised that they'd forgotten to slip some money under their son's pillow after his tooth fell out, they acted fast and managed to produce a hilarious warning letter from 'the Offices of Tooth and Fairy, LLC'.
Usually when your child loses a baby tooth, they get super excited about the magical fairy set to visit them in their sleep, leaving them with a cash gift. However, kids lose 20 baby teeth on average, so it's tricky for parents to be expected to remember the tooth fairy's duties every single time!
Imgur user phillybits was messaging his wife when they both admitted their son Elliott hadn't yet received his treat from the Tooth Fairy.
At his wife's suggestion of $5, the dad had the genius idea of adding an official-looking letter containing a threat from the Tooth Fairy's 'company' that if their son didn't do his outstanding chores soon, they would remove all of his teeth while he was sleeping!

Posting screenshots of their conversation to photo-sharing site Imgur, the dad typed: 'This is imgur gold'.

After some intensive planning and drafting, the hilarious (and very realistic) final letter was complete.
'The most comfortable solution for all three parties involved (Tooth Adjusters, Toothee and Parental Units) is for you, the toothee, to do your Chores as expected, on time, every day. Do not make us come and take your teeth.'

The result? Let's just say that Elliott got a letter he wasn't quite expecting...

The letter reads, which starts off by thanking Elliott for the return of his fourth molar, goes on to explain the contractual agreement he has now entered into.
'By leaving your tooth out for one of our Tooth Adjusters, you, the toothee, have entered into a contractual obligation to perform measured work, herein known as Chores.'
It goes on: 'We have been notified by your Parental Units that these obligations have frequently gone uncompleted, and often have to be requested multiple times before they're, in fact, done.'
The letter ends with a final warning for Elliott: 'The most comfortable solution for all three parties involved (Tooth Adjusters, Toothee, and Parental Units) is for you, the toothee, to do your Chores as expected, on time, every day. Do not make us come and take your teeth'
Even though the note most likely gave him a scare, he was still really lucky to get more than the average amount for Tooth Fairy handouts. Five dollars works out at £3.80, and according to a recent study carried out by Carisbrook Dental in Manchester, the average amount a child receives in the UK is £2.10.
At least his parents had a bit of a laugh and were kind enough to share the letter with all of us!
