Chris Bisson and partner Rowena welcome a daughter

Lovely news for one of our Emmerdale faves!

Emmerdale actor Chris Bisson and his partner Rowena Finn have welcomed a baby daughter named Ella Rose.

Chris, who plays Jai Sharma in the ITV soap, took to Twitter to announce the happy news, writing, 'Delighted to announce the safe arrival of Ella Rose, our beautiful baby girl. What an amazing morning! We are overjoyed', and we must say, we're impressed with their very normal celebrity baby name choice!

Congratulations have flooded in from fellow soap stars - fellow Emmerdale star Anthony Quinlan tweeted 'Congratulations to the both of you. Amazing news! X', whilst Corrie's Andrew Whyment, who plays Kirk Sutherland, added 'Congratulations guys, one of each now. Made up for you both.'

Chris and Rowena already have one child, a son named Harry, aged two. In June, the couple released an adorable pregnancy announcement video, starring their firstborn in a cape with a board reading 'Every superhero needs a sidekick.'

'Row, Harry & I are delighted to announce that we are expecting baby number 2,' Chris confirmed beneath the film.

He later told Hello! magazine that the pair had found out that they were expecting a girl on his 40th birthday.

'It was the best birthday present ever,' Chris said in an interview with the mag. 'For the first time I saw our baby's face and she was sleeping with her little hand behind her head, just like Harry and I do.'

'When she said, "You've got a little pink one" we were ecstatic. I'd hoped, deep down, that our second child would be a girl and my wish came true.'

'I'm so excited. After Harry was born, I was – and still am – totally besotted with him; I know I'll love my little daughter with all my heart, too.'

Congratulations to the family - we're so pleased to hear that their second bundle of joy has come into the world safely. We can't wait to see the first picture of the new arrival!
