She proudly captioned the image, 'Seven weeks post partum, still looking three months pregnant. There is no bounce-back, it's all onwards and upwards. Every day has moments of total splendour and also a decent number of WTFs.

The mum-of-three went on to say that this message is especially for the 'new mamas out there' because 'we see so much of how glossy motherhood can be and not enough of how real 3D life is always complicated (and better for it).'

Trying to be a voice of reassurance she explained, 'You're experience will be just right for you. Prepare to be amazed by some things and horrified by others. Motherhood is as complex and wonderful as the woman.'

Her post received over 34.6k likes and 1,500 comments from fans, including mothers who really appreciated her honest words.

'So brave, raw and honest!! You go girl!! You are an inspiration to many more, than you will ever know!! You have allowed women to feel beautiful, even though, they don't always, at every stage of a wonderful and sometimes, confusing, journey. You are a beautiful, inside and out!!!' applauded one.

'Thank you for posting this!!! So real! I struggled so much with my post partum body and about to do it again. Thank you for the words of encouragement!' empathised another.

Her picture even got the attention of celebrity mum pals including actress Jessica Alba who has recently welcomed her third child, who empathised with Daphne's struggles commenting, 'I feel ya girl' and Tamera Mowry who said, 'I still get questions if I'm pregnant or not. My daughter is 2 and half'.

Daphne is also mother to three-year-old daughter Philomena and two-year-old son Jovan with her husband, John Jovancovic.
