Drew Barrymore reveals her battle with postpartum depression
Actress talks about her experience with postpartum depression after being a mum for the second time
Drew Barrymore has spoken out about dealing with postpartum depression, which she experienced after giving birth to her second child.
Speaking to People magazine, the 40-year-old Charlie's Angels' star said: 'I didn't have postpartum the first time so I didn't understand it because I was like, "I feel great!" The second time, I was like, "Oh, whoa, I see what people talk about now. I understand.'"

Despite admitting that she 'really got under the cloud', Drew said she is grateful for the experience because it is now a constant reminder to live in the present.
Her experience with motherhood has also changed her priorities in life. Even though she's been busy working on her book and shooting a new film, the busy Hollywood star confessed that like many other working mums, managing her career and motherhood has been 'challenging' and she felt 'overwhelmed'.
She has since made lot of decisions that changed her work life to suit parenthood but, despite her role as mum taking priority, she still wants her daughters, Olive, three, and Frankie, 18 months, to see her working as a positive thing.
'I want them to see that work can be a good, positive, fun, happy thing. I've worked since I was 11/12 months old so I have to be able to work, too', she said. 'But I have to put them first. I don't know if it's good enough for anyone but I'm doing my best.'

Unlike most women in showbiz, Drew also revealed that she's not fussed about losing the baby weight, after trying a gluten-free diet that just made her 'unhappy'.
She now practices kickboxing, yoga and does the elliptical a few times a week for 'mental' reasons: 'It's maintenance. Having a hot body is just not my thing. I care a little, I don't care a lot.'
