2018 looks set to be a big year for Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, as the duo reportedly have a very exciting project coming up.
According to The Sun, the duo will pair up to front their very own programme on Channel 5.
‘Eamonn and Ruth are a top presenting team so it’s no surprise there’s plenty of interest from TV producers,’ an insider told the newspaper.
‘The show is at the pilot stage but there’s confidence within Channel 5 that it will become a full series. It’s an exciting time.’
‘It’s believed that the series will be comprised of interviews with celebrities and real-life stories.
The duo already present This Morning together when Holly and Phil are away
Although a name is yet to be confirmed, it’s been reported that bosses are considering calling it A Week With Eamonn & Ruth.
We think this sounds like a perfect fit for couple who have worked together on everything from This Morning to How The Other Half Lives.
Eamonn and Ruth also hosted a teatime quiz called Gift Wrapped together in 2014 and more recently won over fans with their recent transmission 7 Year Itch.
The programme took a closer look at the couple’s marriage and asked members of the public about their own relationships.
The Sun’s exciting revelation comes soon after it was announced that Eamonn would receive an OBE in the New Year’s Honours list.
The 58-year-old – whose talent for being in front of the camera was first noticed back in 1979 when he bagged a hosting role on Irish series Farming Ulster – is obviously delighted.
Speaking of the accolade, the TV veteran said: ‘It’s like getting a gold star for your homework. 2018 will be my 38th year as a broadcaster and I can’t think of a better way of marking that.’
Other household names to have had their achievements recognised by the Queen include Beatles drummer Ringo Starr, Strictly Come Dancing judge Darcey Bussell and Grime artist Wiley.
