'They love me in whatever state' Giovanna Fletcher hits back at critics who said she is 'a bit of a mess'

Pregnant mum-of-two Giovanna Fletcher has taken to Instagram to explain that she prioritises getting her children fed and dressed over making herself look more glamorous.

Replying to critics who commented on how she looks, the mum wrote alongside a picture of herself with no make up on: 'An online stranger commented on my appearance the other night. Talking about me being "a bit of a mess"... having just spent the day entertaining the boys, after a weekend of doing the same, I just looked in the mirror and thought, "Fair point!".'

The author then goes on to explain that she is in fact happy with this because it shows she is prioritising the needs of her children and they don't question her appearance.

She said: 'See, the thing is, I really don’t have the time (or desire) to pile on the make up when I’m in my own home. In fact, I don’t even look at my make up bag. Neither do I manage to do more than gather my hair and tie it up on top of my head.

'My clothes are baggy and ones I can run and play in... In the mornings I go for speed, ease and comfort because I have other things to factor into my morning routine. Like getting the boys fed and dressed, and dealing with the morning toothbrushing wrestle.'

Several of Giovanna's followers once again commented praising the star and thanking her for being so honest and open and dispelling unrealistic expectations.

Giovanna's celebrity pals also added their support. Fellow mum-of-two and singer Rochelle Humes wrote: 'I love your face..it's BEYOND!!!!! You are my friend a superwoman ❤️'.

Welsh television presenter Alex Jones said: 'Well bloody said!'.

Giovanna finished the post by saying: 'The most important thing to note though, is that this is my face. The actual face I was born with. And I’ve NOT ONCE heard the boys complain that mummy isn’t better put together.

'I am, in absolutely no doubt, that they love me in whatever state I happen to be in. I think their opinion carries far more weight. ❤️ Xxxx'

It's not the first time Giovanna has hit back at critics who've commented her appearance. Just last week, the mum posted an emotional Instagram story where she was visibly welling up because of the nasty comments she had received.

In the video, the mum-of-two - who's pregnant with her third baby - explained how she was told she looks like she is six months pregnant despite only being four months gone.

Giovanna and Tom announced a few weeks ago that they are expecting their third child.
