'She can not hold that baby properly!' Binky Felstead sparks concern for daughter India during This Morning appearance

'God I'm cringing so much #ThisMorning'

Fans have expressed concern over the way Binky Felstead was holding her baby during a recent television appearance.

Made in Chelsea star Binky was joined on the This Morning sofa for an interview by her partner, Joshua Patterson, and the couple's daughter India, whom they welcomed back in June.

The pair spoke to hosts Rylan Clark-Neal and Alison Hammond about their life with the infant, with Josh saying: 'It's been the most surreal journey but it has been the most amazing one. She’s here now and we have this most amazing girl.'

'She's actually quite good. She does four hour stints,' Binky added of the little one's sleep habits.

However, whilst some viewers complimented the pair on their adorable new arrival, with many dubbing her 'cute', others were concerned about the way Binky seemed to be holding India throughout the segment.

'Omg does Binky know how to hold a baby 😂😂 #ThisMorning' one Twitter user exclaimed, whilst a second agreed: 'That silly cow Binky on #ThisMorning needs to learn how to hold a baby! its making me cringe!! #supportthehead'

'I love Binky but she's got to hold the baby's head #ThisMorning', a third fan admitted, whilst another wrote: '#ThisMorning she can not hold that baby properly! #binky'

One viewer even went as far as to ask: 'Has the baby got whiplash yet? #ThisMorning'

On the NHS website, midwife Tracy Owen advises that there are lots of different ways of holding your newborn baby; some will be comfortable for you, and some will be comfortable for the baby.

'One of the most important things when you're holding your baby is that you're comfortable,' she adds. 'Also that the head is supported. The head is quite heavy for a baby and they have no control over it so leaning it into your arm or your body is the best way to hold your baby.'
