'I thought everyone knew the Santa code!' Furious mum slams B&M for selling letters from Santa

The mum was concerned her kids would see and start asking awkward questions

An angry mum has slammed bargain store B&M for breaking the 'Santa code' in one of its Manchester stores.

Christmas is a tricky enough time for parents as it is - there's Elf on the Shelf, advent calendars, stealth-like wrapping, and more, and so you'd think stores would give them a helping hand during the festive season.

Well, not B&M, according to one furious parent. Emma Mander, from Manchester, said a letter from Santa template she spotted near the till could have ruined the 'magic of Christmas' for her young children.

She posted her outrage on Facebook, writing direct to the brand: 'Dear B&M, I'm not sure you're aware of the parents unwritten Santa Code – but I'd just like to point out that this, THIS falls outside of the rules!

'Why did you think 1) it was acceptable to sell these in the first place (do it online maybe?) and 2) to put them right at the till so that parents can't avoid with their kids?'

Emma explained that she was glad she didn't have her older two children - who she's 'desperately' trying to keep believing in the magic of Christmas - with her.

'If they'd have seen something clearly labelled "Santa's Reply Letter" there would have been all sorts of questions,' she added.

'[The kids would ask] "why do they sell these in B&M mum?" "Doesn't Santa have them typed up in the North Pole mum?" "Are all the letters I've had just bought from a shop mum?"'

The frustrated mum signed the post: 'Yours, A disgruntled Xmas Ninja mum of a very inquisitive, still believes but Inspector Clouseau type almost eight-year-old, a full believing six-year-old (and a baby that was with me, who can't read yet so luckily has no idea).'

Many friends on her Facebook page were just as surprised by the product with one agreeing: 'Very well said Emma.'

'I can't believe what I'm seeing!!!!!!! Not acceptable xx' exclaimed another, while a third follower commented: 'Agree! I've seen stuff like this aswell as elf on the shelf stuff sold where kids can see them.'

According to reports from The Mirror, a spokesperson for B&M apologised for any upset caused and said that it would be reviewing its positioning of the product in store.
