Our list of best-selling baby products is fun as well as functional, and generally a lifesaver for totally exhausted parents who don’t have the time to test out dozens of products to find the best one.

All these must-haves will make things that little bit easier and more comfortable when you’re dealing with long nights, tears (yours and theirs), nappy rash, teething, breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, and everything in between.

To help you decide what's worth spending your hard-earned cash on, we've checked Amazon's best-selling list and added a few of our own. On it, you'll find toys, teething products, changing equipment, feeding kit, and baby toiletries. All of the products received at least four out of five stars on Amazon and all have been reviewed by thousands of customers.

Topping 2023's list are none other than baby wipes. Amazon's own brand wipes, Mama Bear, clinch the top spot, while the tried, tested, and much-loved WaterWipes come in a close second. If you've ever used either wipe (or know someone who does) you’ll know why.

Whether you’ve already got a little one, or one on the way, welcoming your first child, or your fourth, it’s worth checking out our list to see what’s on it that will help your baby and you.

The best-selling baby products of all time

WaterWipes - £23.95 | Amazon

WaterWipes - £23.95 | Amazon

Age suitability: newborn +

WaterWipes are a best seller for a reason. In the first few weeks, midwives advise that 'just water and cotton wool' is used on newborns' bums, however, that's not always the best option if you have to be up and about on school runs. WaterWipes position themselves as gentle enough for newborn and premature baby skin, and trusted by dermatologists. Which makes them a go-to brand for new mums.

We chat with mum Holly who tells us she used WaterWipes too: "While they are the pricier option compared to say, Aldi, in those first few weeks where the skin is so new and sensitive these were the better choice for me. We still use them now, even two years on and we've never had any skin issues."

Lansinoh Disposable Nursing Pads - £16.49 | Amazon

As best-selling baby products go it's easy to see why these discreet pads are on the list. They're easy to use, simply place the pad in your bra with the contoured edges at the sides. They stick to your bra and change as needed. The brand advises you do this between each feed.

Mum-of-one Carla tells us: "I tried loads of different breast pads and these were the best. They stay put and they fit seamlessly under my bra. I was skeptical as they seemed thin but they're super absorbent."

Tomy Hide-n-Squeak Eggs - £8.99 | Amazon

Tomy Hide-n-Squeak Eggs - £8.99 | Amazon

Age suitability: 0-6 months

A very neat little toy for toddlers, it's colourful and engaging for their young minds and keeps them entertained. An egg carton, with six eggs each with a chick inside. Each egg has a different facial expression and a different coloured chick inside. The chicks 'chirp' when pressed. This is a nice surprise.

Picking up the eggs, fitting the lids on, and pressing them down all help develop fine motor skills. The eggshells fit neatly on top of each chick, the chicks fit into their own space, and the carton closes and locks with a little catch. Each egg has a different shape on the bottom which slots into the corresponding shape in the egg carton, so also aids in learning to shape sort.

Sophie la Girafe Baby Toy - £13.99 | Amazon

Sophie la Girafe Baby Toy - £13.99 | Amazon

Age suitability: 3 months+

Sophie le Girafe was certainly a cult buy in the 2000s, but this gentle giraffe is historic; originally made back in 1961. And it's still just as in demand today, with over 50 million sold to date. The shape makes it so easy for baby to hold and soothes sore gums.

Mum Isobel bought a Sophie Girafe for both of her children; "Everyone had one when I became a new mum. [This giraffe] can be used as a teething toy, plus she squeaks when squeezed. Though fair warning, to wash it just use a wet wipe; submerging in water can cause the sound effect to stop working or potentially grow mould."

What makes the best selling baby products?

Heidi Scrimgeour, Consumer Editor at Goodto.com believes it's a case of 'if it ain't broke don't fix it. She goes on to tell us; "These products are popular because they fulfil a purpose for parents. They help to save sanity or relieve stress in some way, when it comes to the monotony of parenting on a daily basis. The fact they are best-sellers on Amazon - a midnight go-to for mums who are stuck under a feeding baby - says a lot about their usefulness. I know I recognise a few from the days when my three were babies."

This list includes a number of baby toys but, if your little one is getting bigger, check out our best toys for one-year-olds or our list of the best toys of 2023.
