‘They’re meant to be here’ Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott opens up about her rainbow twins

Hillary Scott, co-lead singer of the country band Lady Antebellum, has opened up about her rainbow twins, who she welcomed after miscarrying her second child three years ago.

The now mum-of-three welcomed Betsy Mack and Emory JoAnn nearly three months ago, and now she’s spoken about finding out that she was expecting two babies.

‘It was emotional, because I’m like, “Oh, we’re going to have as many babies in our house as I hoped we would have”‘, the mum recalled.

‘It just isn’t in the same timing that I thought it was going to be, but we are going to have our three.’

The 32-year-old, who lost her second child in 2015 due to a miscarriage, explained that it took her a while to recover after.

‘That was a long process, it took me a while to fully recover after the miscarriage just because it was physically and emotionally [difficult]. This time around, I slept a lot’, she said.

Because the couple got pregnant with twins, they had people asking them if they had undergone fertility treatments, which they didn’t – and twins don’t even run in either of their families.

‘I remember Charles [Kelley] asked, “So did y’all have to do fertility [treatments]?” I said, “No.” Thankfully, we thought we would but we did not.’

‘I said, “And no, we did not Google how to have twins. It just happened. It was just one of those things. I was like, “They’re meant to be here”‘.

Hillary announced in January that she’d safely welcomed the twins with a sweet picture of their hats.

She wrote in the caption: ‘Our family is thankful and proud to announce the arrival of our precious baby girls. They were born in the early hours of January 29th, 2018 and we can’t wait to share more about them in the days to come. Thank you to everyone who prayed and prayed for these little ladies, and thank you Lord for healthy babies.’
