Hugh Grant confirmed to be expecting his fifth child

The happy news were confirmed by his partner's mum

Hugh Grant is set to become a father for the fifth time, as he and his partner Anna Eberstein are expecting their third child together.

The happy baby news were confirmed by his partner's mum, Swedish politician Susanne Eberstein, who spoke to Swedish newspaper Astonbladet.

She said: 'I'm very happy to be getting another grandchild. She's due rather soon.'

This will be the couple's third child together, as they already share a son, John Mungo, born in September 2012, and another child who they welcomed in December 2015. While they confirmed the news that their second child was born, Hugh and his partner never revealed whether they had another boy or a girl.

The couple attended the Golden Globe Awards ceremony together on Sunday

The Notting Hill actor also has two children from his previous relationship with Tinglan Hong - daughter Tabitha, born in 2011, and son Felix, who they welcomed in 2012.

While the soon to be dad-of-five likes to keep his personal life away from the spotlight, he's previously spoken about his experience as a father.

Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres back in 2012, the 57-year-old said: 'Everyone was right all these years, saying, "Hugh, why don't you have some children? It changes your life".

'Now that I have a child, it is life changing. I recommend it. Get some!'

Most recently, he revealed his son didn't actually like Paddington 2 because he was in it 'so much'.

'He's the only child I've met who hasn't loved the film. I took him to see the film at a preview with about 100 of his friends and they all adored it, and he sat there stony-faced throughout the whole thing saying, 'Why are you in it so much?' That was very sad for me', he told news agency WENN.

Before getting together with Anna - with whom he's been in an on/off relationship for the past seven years - Hugh was in a long term relationship with actress Elizabeth Hurley for 13 years, before they separated in May 2000.
