Jessica Simpson branded 'ridiculous' by fans for allowing son to have long hair
'I thought that was her daughter'
Jessica Simpson has been criticised by her social media followers for her latest Instagram post, which shows off her son Ace's long blonde hair.
The mum-of-two is known for posting adorable pictures of her little ones on social media, and this weekend was no exception when she took her three year old to his first Red Sox baseball game.
The tot could be seen sitting in a stadium, looking around seemingly mesmerised by the game.
Jessica captioned the close up shot, 'First Red Sox game #BostonBoy #ACEKNUTE'.
Donning a backwards cap, most of the singer's fans agreed that the little boy looked unbelievably cute, but there were a few who slammed Jessica over the picture.
Many of the 36-year-old's fans commented on the length of Ace's hair, suggesting that his blonde locks were too long and needed to be cut.
Some social media users mistook Ace for his sister, writing comments such as, 'she's adorable...' and 'I thought that was her daughter.'

Others called Ace's hair 'ridiculous' and asked Jessica to cut it.
One user said, 'please cut the hair!!!!!', as did another, 'that is so ridiculous. Cut that kids hair!'.
Similarly another follower said, 'the hair though.... Why?!?'.
With another agreeing, 'Ace is cute. But he needs a haircut .💈✂️🙎🏼'.
One follower felt that Ace should have his own identity and not look similar to his sister, 'Ace is a boy. He is SO cute, but he should not look just like his sister, who is also SO cute. Please give him the perfect little boy's haircut!'
Many of Jessica's fans jumped to her defence, hitting back at those who had made negative comments about the little boy's hairstyle.
One fan said, 'He is a child! Long or short hair it doesn't matter! Stop judging kids this is why the world is so messed up because of NEGATIVE 👎'
Whilst another pointed out that it should be up to Ace what his hairstyle is, 'maybe he doesn't want his hair cut. It's no ones right to tell her or him how to look. I remember people telling Kate Hudson to cut her sons hair, her son wanted it long, so she let him express himself how he wanted. ✌️❤️'
Jessica shares her daughter Maxwell, five, and son Ace, three, with her husband Eric Johnson.
