Katie Price slams ‘rude’ mums who avoid talking to her at the school gates

Katie Price has criticised fellow mums at the school gates who avoid talking to her when she’s dropping off her children.

Mum-of-five Katie, 39, opened up about the issue during an appearance on an episode of Loose Women, telling the other panellists that none of other mothers on the school run talked to her, and she believed the women were being ‘rude’ and ‘patronising’.

‘I think it’s rude, patronising and I’ve done nothing wrong to them and they shoudn’t believe everything they read,’ she explained.

When presenter Jane Moore suggested that perhaps the families felt intimidated by her fame, Katie, who shares two of her children with singer Peter Andre, added: ‘No, because I know they talk to the other side.’

‘I’m equally in love with my children as their father and just because I wear pink or dress the same as them, I’m still an individual, I have feelings.’

‘I want to talk to other mums, I want to get to know my kids best friends’ mum. I just think it’s rude. They all stand there nattering away and I’m on my own.’

‘I do want to be bothered, please come and talk to me,’ she implored. ‘Okay I can’t make cakes, I’m not going to compete with outfit day – I’ve got five children as long as they’re at school – I can’t beat everything other mums do, but don’t judge me.’

The topic came up during a conversation about feeling lonely as a parent, as a recent survey showed that more than half of UK mums and dads have suffered from loneliness at some point.

Katie’s confession won her plenty of support from viewers on social media, with one writing: ‘Must say that @loosewomen topic today I feel for @KatiePrice but it’s not just celeb folks that get predudiced by other mums …I can vouch for that one it has happened to me too’.

‘@KatiePrice @loosewomen schoolgates they are jealous of you, because you make the effort. They’ve got nothing better to do than be negative,’ another advised.

‘I don’t get why people feel the need to be so rude to Kate!’ a third exclaimed. ‘I’d chat to her at the gates. Down to earth lady. Hope you’re better soon.’
