Kerry Katona sparks controversy by branding 10-year-old daughter Heidi a ‘lazy cow’

Kerry Katona has sparked debate after branding her 10-year-old daughter Heidi a ‘lazy cow’.

The mum made the comment during an interview with OK! Magazine, when she was discussing her two-stone weight loss.

While she revealed her nine-year-old son Maxwell was supportive and is ‘obsessed’ with exercise, she called Heidi a ‘lazy cow’ because she doesn’t do any sports.

Speaking about her children, the mum-of-five told OK! Magazine: ‘Heidi is a lazy cow, but Max is obsessed with exercise. I catch him flexing his muscles.’

Kerry’s comment sparked controversy online, with some people saying it’s ‘horrible’ way for a mum to talk about her children.

One user said on Twitter: ‘What a nasty thing to say about your own child. Lots of children don’t like sports. Doesn’t make them lazy.’

Another commented: ‘That is a horrible way to talk about your child people like her should not have kids as they think they are for show.’

A third also wrote: ‘Omg why would you call your child a cow’, while another added: ‘That’s not nice!!!’

However, not everyone thought Kerry’s comment was controversial, with some saying that it’s a ‘common phrase’ that many parents use.

One wrote: ‘Get a grip, its a very common phrase that MILLIONS of parents say!’, while another commented: ‘And??????? So what!! All kids are lazy people honestly need to get a grip if they say their child isn’t lazy! I know as a child I was and some times still am 😂😂 my kids are lazy 😂😂😂 but they are getting better’.

Kerry also opened up about her split from George Kay, which happened last June, saying that it felt like ‘death’.

‘I really struggled at first because he was with me 24/7 and it was like a death.

‘It’s just me and the kids at home now and a much happier house. He held me back, put me down and the financial strain of having him here was huge’, she said.
