Danny Jones welcomed his son into the world in January, and now he’s candidly opened up about the pressures of his new role.
Danny’s wife Georgia gave birth to the couple’s first child together on 27 January. They announced the news with an adorable Instagram picture showing Cooper Alf Jones’ tiny feet.
As Cooper approaches six-weeks-old, Danny has spoken about how becoming a dad has changed him and the hardest bits of the new job.
Like many parents, Danny struggles with the things he cannot control. While you can normally find a solution for any problem, when you don’t know what is wrong with your baby it’s hard not to feel overwhelmed.
Speaking to Pretty52, the 31-year-old said: ‘What I find hard is sometimes is that I can normally fix stuff. For example, the other night, I fixed the boiler. I fixed the water pressure, I fixed the TV, no problem, anything like that.
‘But when you can’t like work out what’s wrong with Coops, that’s what I find hard, because there’s no way to fix it.’
For any new parent, you soon realise that you just have to persist and continue doing everything you can until the rewards start to show.
And for Danny, this is already proving true. He revealed: ‘He’s [Cooper] starting to smile already which makes it all worthwhile you know. It’s amazing.’
You might have mistakenly thought that band mates and fellow dads Tom Fletcher and Harry Judd might have helped prepare Danny for fatherhood.
But it turns out that his friends didn’t give him any sort of heads up. Danny jokes that they probably found it funnier to see him go through what they have without any spoilers!
Danny said: ‘They didn’t really prepare me, they just said “I can’t wait for you to have a kid”. I don’t know if they thought it was funny seeing me going through what they’ve been through or what.

‘I was with them the other night and we were just talking about how I can get Cooper on one bottle a day and it’s quite nice because you can relate to dads and it is nice to have them.’
