Melissa Joan Hart reveals that she’s considering adoption to have a fourth child

Former Sabrina The Teenage Witch and Clarissa Explains It All star Melissa Joan Hart has opened up about turning to adoption to add a fourth child to her family.

The actress, 41, is already mum to sons Mason, 11, Braydon, nine, and Tucker, five, whom she shares with husband Mark Wilkerson.

Now, speaking to Life & Style, she confirmed that she’s considering expanding her brood even further, but is unlikely to get pregnant again herself.

‘If I want to have another one and if I want it to be a girl, I will probably have to adopt,’ she explained.

‘Its something we are thinking about and we are starting to discuss.’

Adding that she’s ‘always imagined’ having four children, but that her husband wasn’t keen on having another one biologically, she said: ‘He kind of convinced me that we were pretty good where we are.’

Melissa and musician Mark, 40, tied the knot in 2003 in a romantic ceremony in Italy, and welcomed their first child together three years later.

Melissa has continued to develop her career on screen, working on her TV show Melissa and Joey until its conclusion in 2015, but has admitted in the past that it’s not always easy to juggle work and family life.

‘You have mum guilt that just runs rampant,’ she told HuffPost during an interview in 2016. ‘If you have children and you’re working, you feel guilty that you’re not home. If you’re home, you feel guilty that you’re not participating in the workforce.’

‘I’m just one of those people, I love to work. And I want to show my kids that work takes priority. It is a priority. My kids come first, but work comes second, and it’s a close second. I think it’s important to instill a good work ethic in our children.’
