‘By regular standards that makes me obese’ Pink praised by fans for honesty about her post-baby weight

Pink has opened up about her post-baby weight after welcoming second child Jameson in December 2016.

The singer, whose real name is Alecia Moore, disclosed her current
weight to her 1.7 million Instagram followers, telling them that by
official measurements the number would qualify her as ‘obese’.

‘Would you believe I’m 160 pounds and 5’3″?’ she asked, alongside a snap
of herself in the gym.

‘By ‘regular standards’ that makes me obese. I know I’m not at my goal
or anywhere near it after Baby 2 but dammit I don’t feel obese. The only thing I’m feeling is myself. Stay off that scale ladies! #feelingmyself #strongismygoal #bodygoals @msjeanettejenkins #happysaturday #getitin #GIJaneismyWCW’

Fans were quick to celebrate the 37-year-old’s positive attitude towards her body, with one exclaiming: ‘Thank you for posting this, you are an inspiration!’

‘Thank you for sharing this message on social media! The outdated BMI
has nothing to do with healthy or happy,’ another agreed. ‘You are a
badass and a great role model for all of us ladies struggling with body
shaming💙’

‘You are beautiful, strong, and empowering,’ a third added. ‘Thank you
for showing women of all shapes and sizes that feeling good in your own
skin is more important that a number on some chart. Congratulations on
baby #2. ❤💋❤’

Video of the Week

It’s not the first time that Pink, who is also mum to daughter Willow, 5, has spoken out about the struggle new mums face when it comes to accepting their body after the changes of pregnancy.

When she first told fans she was hitting the gym again after Jameson’s
arrival, she wrote: ‘ “Day 1!!!!!!!! Lets do this @msjeanettejenkins
(week 6 post baby and I haven’t lost ANY WEIGHT YET!!!!) yaye me!!!!!
I’m normal! (sic)’

‘I love this post,’ one follower responded at the time. ‘So funny and honest. Get it girl!’
