After having a baby many women go through the 'baby blues', a short period of time where they suffer from tearfulness, irritability and mood swings. However, some mums develop a more serious type of depression which is postnatal depression (PND). It can start suddenly or come on slowly and can be mild or severe.
If you think you might have PND the first thing you must do is get help. Tell your health visitor or your GP and remember you're not alone, around 1 in 7 women are thought to suffer from postnatal depression. Don't worry, it's going to be OK.
Find out the facts on PND with expert advice and real life stories from mums who have been there:

goodtoknow has launched its #PNDyourenotalone campaign to help mums with postnatal depression, encourage more women to seek help and raise awareness of PND.
If you'd like to get involved, send in a photo of yourself for us to add to our montage of men and women who have been affected by PND, to show others that they are not alone and that there is no shame in admitting they've been affected by the condition.
