Robbie Williams opens up about ‘crushing’ Ayda’s hopes for more children

Pop legend and former Take That singer Robbie Williams has opened up about the guilt he feels for ‘crushing’ his wife Ayda’s hopes of having another child.

The couple, who married in August 2010, have two children already together. Their daughter Theodora, aged four, was born in 2012, and their son Charlton, born in 2014, is just two-years-old.

After the birth of his son two years ago, Robbie Williams put his music career on hold in order to focus on family life.

At the time, Ayda revealed how the former party-loving pop star was proving to be an amazing parent: ‘He’s great. He’s on baby duties so he’s actually got the harder job right now. That’s what is so amazing is that he’s getting to see his kids. He’s so supportive, for a long time I’ve been by his side doing the wife and mum thing, and now he’s doing a bit of Mr Field stuff.’

Due to his very low testosterone level, Robbie has previously revealed that he had his sperm cryogenically frozen in LA to ensure that the couple could have a family.

However, despite the steps he took to ensure that he and Ayda could expand to their family, and the fact that he has embraced family life, Robbie has now admitted that despite Ayda’s desires to add to their brood, he doesn’t want any more children.

‘I don’t want another one,’ the 43-year-old told The Sunday Times Magazine. But the decision has not been an easy one as the father-of-two has admitted how guilty he feels for ‘crushing Ayda’s hopes’ of having more children.

‘I have to weigh up whether my not wanting to have one is worth her heart breaking every time a pram goes past the car when we’re parked at a red light.’

So, might Robbie relent and consider adding to their family of four? ‘On a good day, in a tender moment, I would like to see another bom-bom running about,’ he admitted.
