A few days before each of their weddings, Kate and Diana were both pictured looking nervous but happy.
Kate and Diana both wore a veil over their faces in the carriage on the way to their weddings.
Charles opted for the navy full dress uniform of a naval commander, while Will chose a red one – the officer’s tunic of the Irish Guards.
Both brides looked beautiful on their big day – Kate wore a dress designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen while Diana’s was designed by David and Elizabeth Emanuel.
Diana and Charles got married in St Paul’s Cathedral, while William and Kate had their ceremony at Westminster Abbey, which is also where Princess Diana’s funeral was held.
Leaving their ceremonies, both Royal couples looked happy.
Both couples smiled and waved at the crowds on their way to Buckingham Palace in a horse-drawn carriage. Hundreds of thousands of people lined the streets of London in 1981 and 2011 to share their big days.
Both couples went onto the balcony at Buckingham Palace to wave to the thousands of fans who had gathered in the Mall.
The famous balcony kisses – 30 years apart. William and Kate shared two kisses, as the crowds cheered and screamed in appreciation!
