'Just let him be a baby!' Sam Faiers criticised over picture of baby Paul at a casting

'Children don't need extra pressure when growing up'

Sam Faiers has come under scrutiny once again after sharing a picture of her son Paul at a casting.

The mum-of-one posted the snap of the 6-month-old in front of the camera to her Instagram account, writing, 'My baby on his casting today 👶🏼 #proudmama'

Whilst the picture in itself seems sweet and innocent enough, fans were quick to criticise Sam's motives for having her son enter the baby modelling world at such a young age.

'Just let him be a baby. I have unfollowed,' one commenter said, whilst another added, ' I agree. The word "casting" is competitive and greedy. Purely money making. Children don't need extra pressure when growing up. When does it stop?'

In one instance, an Instagram user simply wrote 'MONEY MONEY MONEY' alongside the pic.

However, plenty of Sam's other followers soon jumped to her defence over her decision to put Paul in the spotlight. 'Doesn't every parent want their child to be a model..leave people to parent their own way,' one argued.

Many even drew from their own experiences of child modelling. 'Don't get the issue here! My baby boy has been signed up to an agency and has his photo shoot next week, it's so exciting! If he shows signs of not liking it id stop it straight away! I'm sure baby Paul is just fine. Get over it people,' one wrote.

Another agreed: 'Those castings are usually fully prepared with mountains of toys, food and even entertainers if it's a big job. He probably gets far more attention and playtime at a casting than kids who sit at home all day with their keyboard warrior Mums'.

It's not the first time that Sam has shared a picture that's sparked debate amongst her 1.6 million followers.

In previous months, a picture of her son in a baby carrier prompted fans to tell the reality star that her son's positioning was incorrect, whilst an image of him lying down in a pram caused controversy after some parents said it was inappropriate for the child's age.

What do you think about the criticism of Sam's decision to take Paul to a casting: ridiculous or justified? Let us know in the comment box below.
