Simon Cowell vows to take better care of himself for the sake of son Eric
'I'm not invincible'
Simon Cowell has vowed to take better care of himself for his son Eric.
The vow comes after the celeb dad suffered a terrifying fall down his stairs at home on Friday, which forced him to pull out of the live X Factor shows this weekend.
Simon has revealed his poor health was the reason behind the tumble – which had come as a 'huge shock'.
Speaking to The Sun, the 58-year-old told how he had fainted due to 'low blood pressure', and vowed to start 'taking good care of himself' from now on, for the sake of his three-year-old son, Eric, who he shares with girlfriend Lauren Silverman.
The music mogul admitted that the fall served as a reminder that he's 'not invincible', and that he has a responsibility as a father to take better control of his health.
'Sometimes we get a reminder that we're not invincible and this was certainly mine. It was a huge shock,' he told The Sun on Sunday.

Revealing the incident was the outcome of an underlying health issue, he added: 'They think I fainted because I had low blood pressure and so I have to take really good care of myself to sort that out.'
'After all I am a dad and have more responsibility than ever.'
At the time of the accident, it was reported that the X Factor judge was going to get a cup of milk to help him sleep when he fell. He was stretchered out of his home in a neck brace. It's believed he was home alone at the time.
The Syco owner was then forced to pull out of the X Factor live shows this weekend, with Alesha Dixon taking his place on the panel.
Host Dermot O'Leary said: 'Sadly Simon is still not well enough to be here' before introducing Alesha to the audience.
