You can even turn this into a hands-on activity for a kids' party and shake things up a bit by having a variety of coloured card to choose from. After all the fun of making them you'll be proud to look around and see an assortment of rather snazzy looking spiders.
Don't forget to finish off your hat with the wiggle eyes - a fabulous addition to any Halloween craft as it's guaranteed to provide a giggle if not a scare!
You will need
- A3 Black card
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Glue
- Wiggle eyes
How to make the spider hats
- Cut a sheet of A3 paper into 2 strips measuring 10cm wide. Glue the strips together, and when dry measure it around your childs head. Then cut off the excess card and stick the loose ends together to create a base for the hat.
- Cut 8 thin strips of black card measuring 2cm wide, and bend in quarters to create spider legs. Glue 4 either side of the top inside edge of the hat.
- Stick lots of different sized wiggle eyes to the front of the hat - the more the scarier!
