Tesco has already unveiled their predictions for this year’s bestselling children’s toys for Christmas. This year’s must-have list of toys includes a squishy robot, a kids’ camera plus some updated classics from Monopoly, Barbie and Bob the Builder.
What is it: The classic favourite has had a modern update and has now gone electronic, with players using Visa cards plus chip and pin devices to rack up properties on the board.
What is it: Boys will love this updated version of a classic blaster gun – with its red light beam kids can target objects with high precision and from an impressive range of up to 35 feet away.
What is it: Another popular toy has had a makeover – this time the Bopit XT has a new ‘shake’ feature as well as the bop it, spin it, flick it, pull it and twist it. It has a single player function as well as a pass it and party mode, plus this version includes a headphone socket for to kids to fine tune their skills quietly (this, we like) or to plug into speakers for extra loud fun.

What is it: Lego brings out another must-have toy set in which kids must stop the prisoners from escaping the police station or catching them with the police van if they make it out on foot.
What is it: Kids can create their own three storey building from the ground up with this fun Bob the Builder play set. The tower has a crane to lift up boxes and bricks to the top which works on a winding mechanism that the kids’ can control at their own speed.
What is it: Baby Annabell remains a must-have toy this year. Now on it’s fifth version, Baby Annabell is just like a real baby with realistic sounds and features. She gurgles, babbles and sucks on her bottle as well as yawns when she’s sleepy and laughs when she’s happy.
What is it: With the third Transformers film out this year, it’s no surprise that the main robot Optimus Prime, makes a come back to the top ten toys list. The character comes with a selection of weapons that can be attached at multiple points in both his robot and vehicle mode.
What is it: This new Barbie play set includes the classic doll with funky roller skates plus Muffy the dog who can pull Barbie along as well as push her puppies on the carousel.
What is it: This cool camera features a digital zoom plus a function to take video clips. It also includes five different games and ways to edit and enhance photos with fun effects.
What is it: This year’s ‘must-have’ toy for youngsters is predicted to be a Fijit – a squishy robot that can identify phrases, talk to their owners and dance to music. The foot-high robots, that come in a variety of shades with soft plastic skin, are able to respond to basic human commands with 100 set phrases as well as tell jokes and dance in time to music.
