Don't add oil to pasta when cooking to stop it sticking. Stir it when you first put it in the water and leave in a little water when draining, if you don't serve it straight away. Works a treat – and cuts calories, too!

It depends entirely on the type of pasta. I don't find it necessary to add oil when boiling pasta shells, tagliatelle or maccaroni for instance, but I find adding olive oil hugely beneficial with spaghetti.
