Making a great salad

Making a great salad
Average rating: 3 out of 5 star rating

If you're making salad in advance, stop it going soggy when you pour on salad dressing by putting a saucer at the bottom of the bowl first. The dressing will collect there, then you can remove the saucer and stir when it's time to serve it.
Esther Joseph, 39, St Ives, Cornwall

Wilting lettuce will perk up if you soak it in cold water for half an hour.
Rhiannon Clegg, 35, Lincoln, Lincolnshire

Liven up your salad by sprinkling it with walnuts, raisins, dried cranberries and a drizzle of oil.
Anna Simmonds, 39, Newport
