Salma Ali, 63, Kingston upon Thames, Greater London

I find that older eggs work much better if I'm making a meringue, so I always buy them a couple of days in advance.
Susan Foster, 72, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire

It's easier to fish out a bit of eggshell with another piece of eggshell. For some reason they attract each other.
Sarah Wheeler, 48, Stourbridge, West Midlands

Anna Gardner, 50, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire

Angela Beaumont, 52, Hereford, Herefordshire

Mandy Baker, 67, Croydon, Greater London
