After you've finished a jar of pickled onions, don't throw the leftover vinegar away. Pour it into a vinegar bottle and use it like normal when you're having fish and chips. It tastes lovely and spicy.

Save empty butter wrappers by putting them in a Ziplock bag and put them in the fridge. Then when you need to butter a pan just take one out and rub the wrapper along the pan.
