Jennifer Mallinson, on how to cook rice

Jennifer Mallinson, on how to cook rice

To cook rice in the microwave without it getting sticky, use twice as much water as rice. For example, 225g (8oz) rice needs 450ml (16fl oz) boiling water. Put the rice in a large microwavable bowl to prevent bubbling over, cover with cling film, pierce and cook on high for about 10-15 minutes. Once cooked, leave to stand for one minute before removing the cling film and forking through.
