3 foods to beat insomnia
1. A banana
A high carbohydrate bedtime snack like a banana increases levels of an amino acid called tryptophan in the brain. This can in turn increase serotonin levels and induce sleepiness.
2. Handful of seeds
Sesame and sunflower seeds are rich in magnesium - important for muscle relaxation. Topping up low levels can fight the muscle cramps and involuntary twitches may be keeping you awake.
3. Milky drink
Any warm milky drink is soothing and provides natural sugars which also stimulant serotonin.

I've heard that celary is good as it lowers adrenal production, leafy veg rich in magnesium, chamomile tea which lowers blood pressure and blood sugar and any low GI foods like wholemeal pasta with protein. and bananas are great!
