What is in your food?
Do you know what's in your food? Are you sure you're getting a healthy, balanced diet? There could be more salt, sugar or fat in your food than you think.
To make your life a bit easier, lots of your favourite foods and drinks in your local supermarket have labels showing Guideline Daily Amounts (GDAs) for calories, sugars, fat, saturates and salt. So we've linked up with the What's Inside Guide to help you and your family eat a healthy, balanced diet.
First we've added the GDA information to our top 50 recipes. At a glance you'll be able to tell exactly how much of the GDA of nutrients are in each portion of these meals.
Over the next few weeks you'll also be meeting three women just like you. We asked each one to fill in a diary of the food they generally eat and feed their families with each week. We took a look at their supermarket receipts to see what they were buying, too, and sent all the information to our nutritionist, Monica Grenfell to find out what she thought of their diets and how they could make changes to make them more healthy.
If you think you know all about what's in your food already, try our GDA quiz - the results might surprise you.
