Stollen, Panettone and Strudels
If you make the same Christmas cakes, breads, pastries and desserts every year, try some traditional dishes from all over the world, like Stollen, Panettone and Strudels.
Stollen
Stollen is a German fruitcake that's becoming more popular in the UK as a Christmas cake.

Cooking tip: The larger the Stollen you make, the better - it'll keep the moisture and flavour for longer. Make sure you serve it at room temperature, too, for more flavour.
Panettone
Panettone is a traditional Italian bread popular in Milan and all over Italy over Christmas and new year.

Tip: If you're serving this to adults, a glass of sweet liqueur like Amaretto goes really well with it.
Strudels
A strudel is a sweet pastry popular in Austria and is usually filled with apple and raisins.

Cooking tip: If you want your strudel to have a soft, golden crust, brush the pastry with egg yolk. Use egg white for a glossy crust.
