Mince pies
These are really easy to make and are one of the most festive foods at Christmas.
If you buy your shortcrust pastry and mincemeat, you can make a dozen mince pies in a few minutes and there are lots of different ways to decorate them.
If you want to make everything from scratch then allow a little more time to make them. We've got easy recipes for pastry and mincemeat.
Whether you want to make everything yourself or use shop-bought ingredients, these can all be put in the freezer. You could do it in a number of ways:
- Make the ingredients yourself and put in the freezer until you're ready to bake.
- Create your mince pies but store them in the freezer - then just defrost and put them in the oven when you want to bake them.
- Create and bake your mince pies, allow them to cool and store them in the freezer. When you want to eat them just defrost them and reheat.
