Start off by making a simple festive fruit cake. Next get all your ingredients and equipment ready and cook along with Sue to make this beautiful cake - it's easy!
Ingredients:
Fruit cake
Brandy
Apricot jam
Ready-made marzipan to cover a 20cm (8in) round cake
Ready-made sugar paste to cover a 20cm (8in) round cake
Ready-made green sugar paste for decorating (available from most good cake-decorating shops)
Water for sticking
Icing sugar for sprinkling
Equipment:
Plastic cake scraper
Cake crimpers (for decorating, and available from most good cake-decorating shops)
Ribbon cut to the length of your cake
Chopstick
Scissors
