Ingredients

  • 1x onion

Step 1

Hold the onion in one hand and slice down into the roots or bottom of the onion.

Step 2

Flip the onion cut or flat side down and slice into the centre.

Step 3

Peel the skin off of both halves carefully with your hands.

Step 4

Turn one half of the onion on its side. Rest one hand on top and cut carefully into the onion. Don’t cut all the way through the onion, just to the bottom.

Step 5

Cut down into the onion.

Step 6

Finally turn your knife vertically and cut again to create small pieces of onion.

Step 7

If you want to chop the onion in a different way for salads or soups, slice finely after step 3.

Step 8

Your onion is now ready to be cooked.
